Taxis are everywhere. If you manage to take all the seats in a taxi, the cost may be considerably lower than using public transportation. However, be sure to negotiate the price with a taxi driver prior to a ride. Unfortunately, the phenomenon of tourists robbing taxi drivers is not unfamiliar to Madeira.
